Joseph Ochaba is a PhD researcher at University of California Irvine, United States working under the guidance of Dr. Leslie Thompson. His research focuses on studying the role that SUMOylation (a protein modification pathway) plays in Huntington’s disease, with hopes of targeting the SUMO pathway to identify novel therapeutic targets. In addition, he is also studying the normal huntingtin cellular function in autophagy and how expansion of the poly-Q repeat may impair this function in HD.
